Okay... I've had enough
To start off, I was idle on Yiffnet IRC and it's bot kicked
me. WHY? What did I do? I didnt say a goddam word!
"You may return when you have learned tact".
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT???
My name is Austin Wolfclaw. You cannot change the
way I am. I am proud to be who I am and whoever
doesn't respect that deserves to be killed. I don't
care if I don't act my age. I do not care if I am
immature. I AM WHAT I AM AND I'M DAMN FUCKING
PROUD OF IT! NOW LEAVE ME THE FUCK
ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that's the case, then why do so many people share the same opinion about you? If enough folks have told you that you're immature and that you don't act your age, then perhaps you are accurately being described. This is the impression that folks have about you when dealing with you. Personally, I try to keep everyone happy. I know that if I were told that I had done something that either enraged a fairly large group of people or that something I was doing was generally annoying, first I'd be a bit surprised, but then I'd try not to repeat similar situations in the future. A very large part of life is about growing, learning, and changing. If you're content with having the instant ability to repel or piss someone off just by how you generally act, then so be it, but don't ever say that someone deserves to be killed because they have difficulty tolerating your personality traits. If you want others to "leave you the fuck alone", leave others alone as well. At least learn to read body language. It's fairly easy to tell by someone's immediate reactions if you've done something that is considered inappropriate to them.
I can name several instances where you've done or said something that caused quite a bit of anquish to several people at once. One that sticks out in my mind is at Anthrocon 2001. An incident where you walked up to YappyFox (who was in costume at the time), stroked the fur on his chest and said something to the effect of, "Oooh, look at the fursuits. I'm going to make a fursuit someday that will be much better than these." Do you even realize quite how tactless that statement was? The group of fursuiters that were with Yappy at that time all had very nice costumes - some of which I consider to be quite possibly some of the best-looking ones constructed to date. An incredible amount of time, effort, and creativity was put into constructing them. Saying "Oh, these are nice, but I can do so much better than this" has got to be one of the biggest back-handed slaps in the face about the creative ability behind the creation of those costumes that could be said.
Another incident that comes to mind is also at Anthrocon 2001 involving the "Meet the Pawpeteers Live" SIG with Teddy Ruxpin, Tiresta, Treads Lightly, Simba, and a few others. Puppet characters which are played by Simba on the "Funday Pawpet Show" were there on the sidelines in case a dead spot arose in the show, and there needed to be filler. While Simba was doing audio for the show, I'm sure that if he had been asked to jump back stage to do some improv., he would have gladly gone back there to do it - If he had had something to eat that day. As it was, he was really not feeling well enough to do a puppeteering performance because he had put off going to get lunch in order to help with the show. It's very difficult to concentrate on an empty stomach, so he stayed away from the stage and just did audio. Instead of asking Simba if he would jump backstage and do a little performance with his characters, YOU took it upon yourself to perform as those characters (Java and Arthur) in front of an audience. You did those characters absolutely no justice, and it was a very detrimental act toward the quality of the characters. Simba was very upset about you doing that, and promptly left the room after the show was over without helping to do any clean-up, which left Yappy with doing more clean-up than he had to.
These are just two incidences where your ability to annoy people showed up in full force just because you show poor judgement when it comes to the feelings and personal space of others. It has gotten to the point, in a lot of cases, where your very entering a room with others causes folks to cringe in fear of what annoying thing that you'll do next. Anyway, this is really starting to sound like more of a rant than constructive criticism, so I'll stop now. I'm sorry if this post offends you, but I think some of these things just had to be said.
