That server hosts a TON of furry websites, emails and vanity domains. Until furnet got around to running chanserv, it held channel bots for a variety of channels like #fursuit. There are about 100 registered shell accounts on the server for people to update webpages, use unix-based email, or IRC. Now the default IP of the machine has been akilled, and they all have to use vanity domains. It also hosts web-based IRC for people stuck on restrictive firewalls. Well, it DID, until they all got akilled. Apparently this is because someone logged on with the nick "Hitler" and an admin got their panties in a knot over it. Heaven forbid someone should login from AOL with a similar nickname. Now, what do I tell them? Should I have them all buy vanity domains? Who's willing to pay for that? Are the admins of furnet? Should I explain to them how to use untracable open proxies so they can get around this? Should I just tell Yappy and Herbie to "Get a life!" and not use IRC anymore? (They at least have their own domains to get around the akill) While I'm on the subject of stupid akills, WTF is up with akilling any HOST when someone nicks to *sibe*!*@*? He's smart enough to not use the nick anymore, and all it does is catch other people with a long-term (if not infinite) akill. This is obviously a good plan.
