Either your brain apparently has no sense of continuity or you've
got some kind of hard-on for AnthroChat that you're not letting on.
What does the fact that I run an IRC network have to do with the topic
of discussion? If anything, it just gives me credibility.

Both of your most recent posts all but imply that you have
something to do with running this list since you're so quick to dictate
its contents and members' behavior, yet, in reality, you have nothing to
do with it. Quit trying to be something that you're not.

I merely pointed out that, to a new subscriber, the list's own
description doesn't state that it isn't for general discussion.

> B) hosting crappy events

First off, they're King Elliott's events, not mine. I'm a minion
(read: staff), not the host.

Second, and again, this has nothing to do with the topic at hand,
but since you brought it up:

Aside from the heat and underestimated air conditioning at the most
recent event, what's crappy about them? I mean, let's outline the
things that have been provided for either FREE or for "essentially free"
($10 registration gets you a $10 gift certificate that you can spend in
the artisan's den): The spring event (ESG) included an exclusive
performance of Avenue Q, performed by a mixed cast - some from the
original Broadway cast and some from a couple of the touring companies.
It also included admission to Fun Spot USA in Kissimmee, which is a
small amusement park that includes Go-Karts, video games, and
carnival-style rides. Hotel accommodations are provided at a very
discounted/reasonable rate of either $45 or $60 per night. ESG also
included all day admission plus an exclusive, ELE-attendees-only 2 hours
to Wet 'n Wild Orlando, which is a local water park. All events include
a video arcade with a mix of classic arcade cabinet games as well as
several Playstation 3 and Wii consoles connected large, widescreen
television sets and a load of games for each. Typically, at least one
hot meal is served and an unlimited supply of cold soft drinks and
bottled water is supplied at every event. Music and DJ lighting are
provided at every event. ESG had a professional photographer who was
providing very large format (read: life size) portraits for a reasonable
fee. At the events not held at the hotel (the other three per year that
aren't ESG), a sport court with tennis, basketball, and volleyball is
included. I'm not sure what kind of person would look at this list of
accommodations, that are provided basically for free, and say, "Egads!
What crappy events!" What more do you want? If you can provide
suggestions of what to add/fix that will make it meet your lofty
expectations, I'm all ears. Just calling the events "crappy" doesn't help.

First off, nobody reported getting heat stroke, so there you go
lying again.

Yes, the most recent event was held in Florida during one of
Florida's hottest days this year. The 8.5 tons of air conditioning in
the new, unfinished building couldn't keep up with it. That was due to
an estimate that was based on the last party held in the building during
warm weather which was cooled, quite adequately, by 5 tons. The
additional 3.5 tons ended up being an underestimate. Since it's next to
impossible to get a contractor to install additional units on a Saturday
with no notice, it just had to be toughed out. In addition to the three
industrial fans that were there, 5 additional high-flow blowers were
purchased and brought in *during the event* to try to help keep people
cool. Again, what more do you want?

I hardly "drudged up" the URL. It's included in *every post*
distributed by the list. Just look down below my signature line in
*this very post*. Ta-daa! There it is!
